As I prepare for the WeinviertelTrailRace 3rd Edition, I put in occaisonal epic rides. Only yesterday another one: some 118 km, 9 hrs gros, 7hrs net and all the altitude meters I could get (1.200). I first followed the "Camino de Santiago" from my homebase to a place called Hadersdorf near Krems and then rode up into the vineyards overlooking the Danube valley. After Krems I crossed over to the southern bank of the Danube and finally climbed up to the Dunkelsteinerwald on some fire-roads, enjoying terrific views into the Dabube valley. Finally I wrecked some singletracks, rather the thorny brambleberry twines wrecked me somewhat.
