Some rides have a special quality. This one brought this year's transition from summer to autumn in 50 km/650altitude meters/4.5 hours riding and breaks on Sunday October 2, 2016 starting at 8a.m.

Once again an MTB-adventure by riding new trails in a new area. First you need to read the map, then find your way in 3-D nature and finally ride new trails in style and with a wide grin in your face. We achieved all three goals and will continue in finding new adventures.

Sports, School, Mountainbiking

Had a great sports week in Carinthia. Propably my last such Event, nevertheless no need to lapse into remorse. The steep and long climbs are not exactly my terrain, though, yet they are typical for Alpine territory. But that's what cablecars are for.

7 Rides on Istria

My base was located near Pula, the small village of Peruski. The landscape is hilly the lesser roads are tarmac with potholes, the offroad tracks are gravel, dirt and the interesting ones are usually overgrown. No precise maps can be found. There are number of "official" tracks, but usually not quite where you'd like to start. So I decided to go into pathfinder mode and find my own tracks and trails. Beastly and gnarly stuff, but pure Adventure when you are not afraid of dogs. There are quite a handful of them, especially at the outer fringes of the numerous small villages you eventually hit on your stray ramblings. All in all 350 km and 4000 vertical meters and some 21 hrs of riding.
All in all a FIVE STAR holiday.

Istria

Training south of the Alps in Istria, Close to the sea and hopefully with warm breezes and the first true sights of spring. My next post will be from the sea! :-)
